Tears all over town

Lying in my bed I hear the winds whistle. The palm trees sway resembling crashing tides. I stare into the fireplace with my eyes closed, Reflecting on the way the fire made your shadow dance through the glass of red wine. Hold on to the small things is what you would always say. Making heart shapes with your hands on to the wall in a fire lit room. Crazy how I’m just now realizing how much love was here in this room that night and how the heart shadow you made was red through the fire in the wine. Wow. That same heart is still there not only in my mind but also in these tears that fall. You would think that love still lived here from the heart on my pillow, my sheets and deep in the fabrics of this mattress. I wonder if you’ll find your way back to love with the trail of tears I’ve left in this town.
